16-18 October 2009 people's from different strata across the country celebrated Big Stand Up against poverty and for Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended as Chief Guest on 17 October marquee mobilization at Bangabondhu International Conference Center in Dhaka.

Hon'ble Speaker of Parliament and Chairperson of Anti-Poverty Campaign National Committe Mr. Md. Abdul Hamid Advocate MP attended the main marquee mobilization as Chair. Hon'ble Speaker also lead the historic oath taking moment for the Nation. This oath taking moment was the first time in the history of Bangladesh, in where millions of people took oath simultiniously in all 64 districts, upazilla and even in union parisad by setting Satellite device with big screen. All Television chanel including state owned Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar telecasted and broadcasted this three and half hours long marquee mobilization(from beginning to end) live from Dhaka.

Though Hon'ble Leader of the Opposition in the Parliament Begum Khaleda Zia didn't attened,she wished this historic Anti-Poverty mobilization a grand success through a letter written by herself to the Hon'ble Speaker.

Hon'ble Finance Minister and Co-Chair of Anti-Poverty Campaign National Committe Mr.AMA Muhith MP, Hon'ble Chief Whip, Chairperson of APPG and Co-Chair of Anti-Poverty Campaign National Committe Vice-Principal Md. Abdus Shahid MP, Global Director of United Nations Millinum Campaign Mr. Salil Shetty, President of Bangladesh Economic Association Dr. Quazi Kholiquzzaman Ahamad and Secratry General of All-Party Parliametary Groups(APPG) and Member Secratry of Anti-Poverty Campaign National Committe Mr. Shishir Shil also addressed at this historic mobilization. Mr. Asaduzzaman Noor MP, Co-Chair of Anti-Poverty Campaign National Committe moderated this historic mobilization.
